Expected to Generate 380GW of Solar Energy
Generating 380 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of renewable energy each year, the Garoo Solar Farm will provide enough electricity to power approximately 70,000 Australian homes, reducing reliance on fossil fuel sources.
The Project
The project spans approximately 368 hectares of cleared grazing land, carefully selected for its ideal conditions, including minimal vegetation and proximity to infrastructure, ensuring efficient and sustainable land use. The project land will offer lead sheep grazing conditions during the operation lifetime.
360 MW Battery Energy Storage System
The 360 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will store energy from both the solar farm and the existing grid, ensuring reliable power supply during peak demand and enabling better grid stability with storage up to 4 hours
Approximately 250 Jobs Created
At its peak, the project will create approximately over 250 construction jobs contributing to the local economy and offering employment opportunities to the nearby communities.
